There was a time in my life when I felt lost.
As early as the 4th grade, I remember feeling disconnected—bored, without direction, and unsure of my purpose. No one was guiding me, asking the right questions, or helping me understand who I could become.
By the time I reached junior high school, someone asked me a simple question:
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
I didn’t have an answer.
So I gave someone else’s.
I said “nurse”—not because it was my dream, but because it sounded like a good answer. Looking back, that moment showed me just how much guidance I was missing. I didn’t need pressure—I needed direction, exposure, and someone to help me discover my purpose.
That’s why YBT Foundation starts with youth at an early age—especially around the 4th grade, because that’s where the gap begins.
As a parent of four boys, this mission is deeply personal.
Every day, I watch the news and see stories of young lives lost—children who never had the chance to grow, discover who they were, or reach their full potential. And my heart breaks—not just for those children, but for their families.
No parent should have to experience that kind of pain.
There’s a saying:
“It takes a village to raise a child.”
I believe that with everything in me.
And I didn’t just want to believe it—
I wanted to become part of the village.
YBT Foundation was created to be that support system.
To provide guidance where it’s missing.
To create opportunities where there are none.
To help young people build confidence, discover purpose, and make better decisions about their future.
Because when we invest in our youth, we don’t just change individual lives—
we change entire communities.
